About

Dr. Jonathan Kaufman

Psychotherapist. Anthropologist. Strategic Advisor.

For over two decades, Dr. Jonathan Kaufman has operated at the rare intersection of psychotherapy, anthropology, and strategic consulting. His work helps leaders and organizations see what others cannot — the invisible cultural forces, cognitive patterns, and systemic dynamics that determine every outcome.

Living with cerebral palsy since birth, Dr. Kaufman brings a perspective that most consultants lack: an intimate understanding of how adversity shapes resilience, how constraints drive innovation, and how the human experience of struggle can become the foundation of extraordinary leadership.

Adversity as Advantage

Living with cerebral palsy taught Dr. Kaufman that constraints are not limitations — they are the raw material of innovation and resilience.

The Story

Dr. Kaufman's journey began not in a boardroom, but in the daily navigation of a world not designed for his body. Born with cerebral palsy, he learned early that the systems around us — social, cultural, organizational — are rarely neutral. They are designed by and for certain bodies, certain minds, certain assumptions.

This insight led him to anthropology, where he trained in the ethnographic methods used to study cultures and civilizations. He learned to see the invisible: the unspoken rules, the hidden power structures, the cultural patterns that shape behavior without anyone noticing.

Simultaneously, his training in psychotherapy gave him a second lens — the ability to understand how individual minds process information, make decisions, and resist change. Where anthropology reveals the cultural operating system, psychotherapy reveals the human one.

The convergence of these two disciplines — applied to the world of organizations and leadership — became the foundation of JKC Consulting. Today, Dr. Kaufman's methodology is used by executives, founders, and leaders who understand that the most powerful strategic advantage is not information, but intelligence — the ability to see what others cannot and act on what others won't.
